Playstation State of Play March 2022

 Sony confirmed before the show that it would concentrate on smaller releases and already announced games, trying to temper expectations.  That never stopped anyone from getting their hopes up :)

Sony has made the very wise decision to purchase Housemarque games, the makers of PS5 exclusive Returnal.  A relatively small studio that have been making outstanding games will now have the backing of a major corporation that should help it realize the visions of bigger games. Returnal has been considered by many PS5 players as the true beginning of this new generation of consoles because of how detailed, smooth and technical marvel to look at and play.  However, the game's difficulty does turn off some people.  Either way, this is a huge win for Sony and gamers.  Are you looking forward to the possibilities of what's next? Microsoft Powers Xbox Cloud Gaming with Series X

Microsoft today announced that they are expanding it's gaming cloud service to more countries and upgrading the quality to Series X.  Previously it was only available to Android devices through a native app and on iOS through the web browser.  However, today they announced that the games can be played directly from xbox.com/play from any device and instantly be transported to all of that cloud gaming goodness. The experience will also make a big upgrade starting today.  Previous Xbox cloud games were using custom Xbox One X running in their datacenters but now they've been upgraded to Series X.  This means that Next-Gen graphics and technologies will now be available to subscribers whether they own one or not.  This essentially means that, assuming good internet, your games will look better on your phone or PC than on your Xbox One X/S.
