Microsoft Powers Xbox Cloud Gaming with Series X

Microsoft today announced that they are expanding it's gaming cloud service to more countries and upgrading the quality to Series X.  Previously it was only available to Android devices through a native app and on iOS through the web browser.  However, today they announced that the games can be played directly from xbox.com/play from any device and instantly be transported to all of that cloud gaming goodness.

The experience will also make a big upgrade starting today.  Previous Xbox cloud games were using custom Xbox One X running in their datacenters but now they've been upgraded to Series X.  This means that Next-Gen graphics and technologies will now be available to subscribers whether they own one or not.  This essentially means that, assuming good internet, your games will look better on your phone or PC than on your Xbox One X/S.

When it comes to cloud gaming, Microsoft is doing things a bit differently than Nvidia, Amazon or Google.  While those services allow you to buy your games individually on top of the monthly subscription, Microsoft is only charging $15/month for many more features and to play your own collection of Xbox games and Game Pass titles.

For those unaware, Game Pass Ultimate is Microsoft's $15/month subscription service which includes Online gaming through Xbox Live, Xbox Live free games, a selection of games to download for both Xbox and PC including Microsoft published games available on release and Cloud gaming.
